20 Year anniversary!

December of 2000, I graduated from massage school. Its hard to believe I've been practicing for so long. Tonight I opened up my journals from 1997, my first trip to Hawaii. Those moments are so precious. I worked at a retreat center as a housekeeper with my best friend. The retreat space was often occupied by various groups that centered around healing. There was a healing house by the pool where they practiced Lomi Lomi. There were groups doing silent retreats and we couldn't talk to them or eachother during their stay. There was a group learning under water healing techniques. It was this Kansas girls first time experiencing anything of that nature. I was reading about my first experience snorkeling and how the fish would get used to you being in the water if you were still and calm. I wrote about how being in the ocean felt like the wind blows in Kansas. I literally woke up into how amazing life is. The thing that sealed the deal for me was this one day, I was sitting on a secret cliff watching the ocean. I saw a parade of sea life swimming together in a symmetrical pattern. First sea turtles, next a dolphin pod jumping out of the water, then whalesss, jumping out, next dolphins and lastly sea turtles. It was like a miracle.

The best part was when everyone in the house got home that day, each one of us had been on various parts of the coast and we all saw the same thing. So they literally swam in a symmetrical pattern all the way down the coast. That day will forever be imprinted in my mind as the day I witnessed the magic of life and that this world is alive beyond any sense I gathered before and it hasn't stopped. I kept going back to Hawaii after that time. It was like food, and I needed more so I decided to go to Massage school there and the rest is history. Next month will be 20 years since I graduated Lomi Lomi school. Ill be forever grateful for this life of healing and through it all, I look forward to at least 20 more years. Thanks for being here with me.
